As software companies move beyond adding AI features to existing products, engineering teams are facing a different challenge: building applications and platforms around AI from the outset. For enterprise customers, that shift requires technical foundations that can support complex systems, reliable data flows and long-term product development.
Gorilla Logic has appointed Steve Daly as chief technology officer as the engineering company expands its work in AI-native product and platform development. The announcement follows its acceptance into Anthropic’s Claude Partner Network as a Select Services Partner, strengthening its focus on helping enterprises adopt and operationalize Claude.
Daly will concentrate on the architecture, data and engineering foundations required to move AI projects from experimentation into production. The company is targeting organizations that need to incorporate AI into business-critical technology rather than deploy isolated applications.
Drew Naukam, CEO of Gorilla Logic, said the pace of AI development is changing what organizations can build. However, he noted that “enterprise adoption requires much more than access to a model.”
The distinction is relevant for software engineering providers as companies evaluate how to turn AI capabilities into products that can operate within existing business environments. Model access alone does not resolve questions involving system architecture, data quality, security or the processes required to maintain software over time.
Daly brings more than 35 years of technology and consulting experience to the position. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of solutions for global digital transformation at New Era Technology, where he led the company’s global AI practice and worked on initiatives involving cloud transformation and enterprise innovation.
His experience includes advising executive teams and leading modernization programs for organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies and public-sector agencies.
Daly said the challenge is connecting technical capabilities with the organizations expected to use them. “AI creates tremendous opportunity, but technology alone doesn’t create transformation,” he said.
He added that “the real work is connecting AI to the business, and the people who have to operate it every day.”
Under Daly’s technical leadership, Gorilla Logic plans to expand its work across AI-native product and platform engineering. The company said it intends to apply engineering discipline across both areas, although the announcement did not identify specific deployments, customers or performance targets associated with the expansion.
For software engineering firms, the opportunity is moving beyond building AI-enabled features toward developing products and platforms that can function reliably within enterprise environments. The challenge is ensuring that AI-native development delivers operational value beyond the initial implementation.
