Managing rental housing increasingly requires more than maintaining properties and collecting rent. Operators must also coordinate digital systems, manage cybersecurity risks, comply with changing regulations and deliver consistent resident experiences. As these responsibilities converge, technology decisions are becoming a more central part of how multifamily housing businesses operate.
The Real Estate Technology & Transformation Center (RETTC) will bring together rental housing operators, technology providers and industry leaders at OPTECH 2026, scheduled for November 16–18 in Las Vegas. The event will focus on the technologies and strategies shaping rental housing operations, including artificial intelligence, automation, cybersecurity, data management and customer experience.
The shift comes as property management platforms take on a broader role across the rental lifecycle. Rather than operating as isolated tools, these systems increasingly need to exchange information across leasing, payments, insurance verification, vendor management and resident services. Connecting these processes can help operators reduce administrative work, but it also raises questions about integration, data quality and regulatory compliance.
Insurance compliance becomes part of the proptech conversation
Insurance is one area where the relationship between real estate operations and technology is becoming more visible. Property managers must coordinate coverage requirements, verify insurance documentation and ensure that residents and vendors meet applicable obligations. When these processes rely on manual checks and disconnected systems, maintaining consistent records across large portfolios can become difficult.
GetCovered, an insurance technology company that develops software for the property insurance sector, operates at this intersection. Its platform connects insurance carriers, agencies, property managers, landlords and membership associations through software designed to simplify policy management, compliance and customer experience.

Brandon Tobman, CEO of GetCovered, will attend OPTECH 2026 as the industry examines how technology can address operational challenges across rental housing. The company has also expanded into vendor compliance and contract management through its June 2026 acquisition of Revyse, an AI-powered vendor intelligence and compliance platform.
The acquisition reflects a broader effort to connect insurance administration with other property management workflows. GetCovered said its platform supports insurance compliance across more than three million rental units, while the addition of Revyse extends its capabilities to vendor documentation, contract management and spend intelligence.
These developments illustrate how proptech companies are expanding beyond individual software functions toward systems that connect different sources of operational risk. For housing operators, the challenge is not simply adopting more technology, but ensuring that those systems work together and produce reliable information for day-to-day decisions.
OPTECH provides a forum for examining these questions alongside other industry priorities, from AI implementation to cybersecurity and regulatory change. As rental housing businesses become more dependent on interconnected digital infrastructure, the value of these systems will increasingly depend on their ability to simplify complex operations without introducing new compliance or data management problems.
