Retail technology is moving beyond dashboards and predictive analytics toward systems capable of coordinating tasks, identifying operational problems, and supporting decisions in real time. Agentic AI is emerging as part of that transition, particularly in an industry where execution across thousands of physical stores remains difficult to manage.
The topic will be explored at the POI 2026 Fall Hybrid Summit, where Ruslan Okhrimovych, CEO of Effie.AI, is scheduled to speak about a new approach to retail technology: operational agentic retail execution.
The event, organized by the Promotion Optimization Institute, will take place November 11–13 at the Westin Galleria Dallas in Texas. It will bring together consumer goods executives, retailers, and technology providers to discuss developments in artificial intelligence, commercial planning, revenue growth management, and retail execution.
From AI-powered insights to autonomous retail workflows
Traditional retail execution software has largely focused on collecting store-level information, generating reports, and helping managers identify gaps between commercial plans and what happens on the shelf.
Agentic AI introduces another layer to this process. Rather than simply presenting information, AI agents can interpret operational data, identify discrepancies, coordinate workflows, and help teams determine which actions require attention.
This approach is particularly relevant for consumer packaged goods companies, which must coordinate field representatives, supervisors, distributors, and retail partners across complex networks.

During his POI presentation, Okhrimovych will introduce operational agentic retail execution as a new category of solutions, examining how AI can become more directly involved in the day-to-day management of retail operations.
The discussion will also include business performance results associated with the technology’s implementation.
According to figures shared by the Effie.AI CEO ahead of the event, the reported outcomes include a 16% increase in sales growth, a 67% reduction in shelf audit time, and a 40% reduction in supervisor workload.
These metrics illustrate how the application of AI in physical retail environments can extend beyond administrative automation, potentially influencing sales performance and the productivity of operational teams.
Retail execution becomes part of the enterprise AI agenda
The presentation comes amid broader efforts by consumer goods companies to integrate AI into commercial operations.
While generative AI has attracted attention for its ability to produce content and accelerate knowledge work, enterprise applications are increasingly exploring how intelligent systems can interact with existing business processes.
In retail, that means connecting information from stores, field teams, and commercial systems to improve visibility and accelerate responses to execution problems.
The POI 2026 Fall Hybrid Summit will examine these developments alongside discussions on trade promotion management, advanced analytics, omnichannel strategies, and revenue growth management.
For companies deploying AI at scale, the challenge is no longer simply identifying where the technology can be used. It is determining whether those applications can deliver consistent, measurable improvements across complex business operations.
The shift toward agentic retail execution offers one example of how that question is being addressed.
