The 8 Most Innovative Tech Products Of The Last Six Months

What’s the most innovative tech product or service you’ve seen in the last six months and why? The following answers are provided by the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC), an invite-only organization comprised of the world’s most promising young entrepreneurs. In partnership with Citi, the YEC recently launched #StartupLab, a free virtual mentorship program that helps millions of entrepreneurs start and grow businesses via live video chats, an expert content library and email lessons. 1. Leap Motion Leap Motion allows you to manipulate your computer without actually touching it — as if you’re in a futuristic movie. The product is incredibly small and is fundamentally changing how people interact with their computers. – Aaron Schwartz, Modify Watches     2. LSATMax The most innovative product I have seen in the last six months is LSATMax. For far too long, students searching for high-quality LSAT prep have been overpaying for subpar instruction, static content and limited access. LSATMax, created by Harvard Law School alumni, is a comprehensive LSAT prep course available for download in the iTunes store. Check out the reviews — they speak for themselves. – Mehran Ebadolahi, TestMax, Inc. 3. Fleksy I was blown away by Fleksy. It’s a new technology that allows you to type on an invisible screen. I didn’t believe it until I tried it; it was very accurate and actually allowed me to type quicker. – John Hall, Influence & Co.     4. Waze I know, it’s been around for a little bit, but I just found out about Waze. I think it was really interesting how the app crowd-sourced social data to provide real-time feedback for maps. I think it did a really good job integrating several key technologies such as social, geolocation and real-time feedback. – Andy Karuza, Brandbuddee   5. Belly Armor Belly Armor from RadiaShield is pretty impressive. It’s a smart but simple product line that protects expectant mothers from the “everyday radiation” that comes from cell phones, computers, power lines and more. The clothing and product line uses silver to neutralize electromagnetic waves, which can be harmful to babies. – Ben Rubenstein, Yodle   6. Form 1 3D Printer I think many people underestimate the potential of 3D printing and how it can revolutionize everything from manufacturing to art to prosthetics. I literally can’t wait for the day I break my phone case and just print out a new one. – Phil Laboon, Clear Sky SEO     7. Color IQ It has been so neat to watch Sephora, a massive beauty retailer, roll out the Color IQ device in stores. The device matches skin tone to the universe of color cosmetics products that need to match skin color. The beauty and personal care industry is massive, and innovative uses of technology, such as Color IQ, help consumers find products that are best for them in a personalized way. – Doreen Bloch, Poshly Inc.   8. Snapchat Although it’s hard to explain exactly why it’s so compelling, Snapchat has more or less made messaging more fun. My friends now use Snapchat even more than text messages — and that’s a powerful statement about how our communication continues to change. – Derek Flanzraich, Greatist
