Google has stretched its might to many aspects of the web and our lives. This week marked the Beta launch of Boutiques, a fashion website offering mini closets based on celebrity, designer and blogger styles. Upon signing up for an account, the first option users are presented with is Stylyzer. Two pictures are displayed for the user to choose between for a series of slides. The choices are analyzed and at the end, a style of dress is suggested. My style suggestion came back casual chic, with specific suggestions of drapey cardigans, neutrals, boyfriend blazers and stripes. If a user disagrees with the analysis, the other style categories are listed on the bottom of the screen. Following the Stylyzer, users can take a chance with “loving” or “hating” several categories of apparel, like dresses, tops, bottoms and shoes. Finally users can choose from the designers they love and voila! Your boutiques are born. In need of that perfect little black dress, change your settings and it will appear. Exploration of other boutiques are also available. Inspired by Carey Mulligan and her pixie blonde hair? Look through the boutique bearing her name, and those of other celebrities, and find short mini dresses, full skirts, and flowy tops. Want to see what Sarah Jessica Parker has been doing over at Halston Heritage? Browse through the fall collection and then some in their boutique. And some of the best fashion bloggers, including Jane Aldridge from Sea of Shoes, Bryanboy and Karla Deras from Karlas Closet give even more swoon worthy advice. Retailers such as ModCloth and Scoop NYC share their wares, and trends have a boutique all their own. Boutiques is yet another great fashion website, along with Chictopia and Polyvore to draw inspiration from.
