Microsoft has recognized Sonata Software with the 2026–2027 Microsoft AI Business Solutions Inner Circle Award, placing the company among the top tier of its global AI Business Solutions partner network. The award marks Sonata’s sixth Inner Circle recognition from Microsoft.

The announcement comes as enterprise technology vendors and their customers shift their attention toward agentic AI, where software can move beyond generating content or answering questions and begin interacting with applications and executing defined tasks.

Sonata has maintained a relationship with Microsoft for more than three decades. Its technology work spans Dynamics 365, Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform and Copilot, alongside capabilities in AI-led modernization, AI-ready data, resilient AI operations and AI-led service delivery.

Rather than treating AI as a standalone application, the company’s approach focuses on connecting AI capabilities with the systems businesses already use. That becomes increasingly important when AI agents need access to enterprise data or must perform actions across multiple applications.

Microsoft’s partner ecosystem moves toward agentic AI

The recognition comes alongside a deeper relationship between Sonata and Microsoft’s engineering organization. Sonata recently joined the Copilot Agents & Platform Engineering Depth Partners program and became a Microsoft Frontier Partner, giving it deeper engagement with Microsoft’s Engineering and Product teams to advance and scale agentic AI.

For Anthony Lange, Chief Revenue Officer at Sonata Software, the technology is changing the way enterprises need to think about AI adoption:

“The ability to embrace AI to deliver value and enterprise velocity will differentiate organizations in an AI-led era,” said Anthony Lange, Chief Revenue Officer, Sonata Software. “Our sixth Inner Circle recognition reflects the engineering depth we bring to helping enterprises turn AI into measurable business value. Together with Microsoft, we’re helping them move from systems of record to systems capable of autonomous action.”

That movement from systems of record to systems capable of autonomous action introduces additional requirements around enterprise infrastructure. An AI agent needs access to relevant data, connections to applications and clearly defined permissions before it can participate in a business process.

Sonata’s Harmoni.AI platform brings together AI-led modernization, AI-ready data, resilient AI operations and AI-led service delivery as part of that strategy.

Microsoft also views its partner network as an important component of its AI strategy. Niels Jensen, Microsoft AI Business Solutions ERP Lead in Enterprise Partner Solutions, said:

“Inner Circle partners represent our top selling partners worldwide. But it is more than a sales recognition; it’s a community of industry leaders who work closely with Microsoft to accelerate innovation, share experience and shape the future of AI-powered business transformation. The collaboration and commitment to customer success demonstrated by this community helps us advance the entire AI Business Solutions partner ecosystem around the world to deliver transformative business outcomes at scale.”

Sonata says it has more than 6,400 AI engineers and operates across multiple global markets using its Platformation™ framework.

As enterprises begin connecting AI systems to business applications, the technical challenge is expanding beyond model performance. Data architecture, application integration, cloud infrastructure and modernization increasingly determine how much autonomy an AI system can have inside an organization.
