On our acquisition of Techli

By July 12, 2017

Dear Techli readers,

My name is Conrad Egusa, I’m the CEO of a company called Publicize. This week we’d announced that we had acquired Techli. Techli was founded in 2011 by Edward Domain with the mission to provide coverage to entrepreneurs in the Midwest, an important area of the county that has historically, in many ways, been overlooked. The publication quickly grew, later receiving an Arch Grant award in St. Louis.

Techli was able to grow because of its founder Edward and its team, including Caryn Tomer, among others. That mission that made Techli so special is why my team and I believe so much in this publication. We’ve been fans of Edward and Techli for many years, going back to when he first started. And we share his view that the Midwest is an important part of the US and that it deserves more.

The Midwest matters. Chicago is the 3rd largest city in the country, with its metropolitan area having close to 10M people alone. And yet innovation in this region goes beyond any one location. Detroit, St. Louis, Indianapolis, Columbus, Milwaukee — there are over 65 million people living in the Midwest. From the initiatives of Ohio’s government to promote entrepreneurship, to Detroit’s aims to re-invent innovation in the city; the list of the important work here goes on.

My team and my aim is to further the legacy of Edward & Techli, and to remain true to its mission of building a leading publication covering entrepreneurship & innovation in the Midwest. We believe in what Edward and his team built. We believe in Techli. And we have big plans for the future.

We will be re-launching Techli.com in August. If you have any questions, please write me at any time at [email protected].

Best wishes,
Conrad Egusa
