TechNexus, Chicago’s first co-working space for tech entrepreneurs, announced today its spring 2012 cohort of collaborating companies. Unlike incubators or accelerators, the TechNexus cohort admits growth-stage companies on a rolling schedule without a predefined time frame for them to spend within the environments. The ten companies join more than 130 ventures in the TechNexus ecosystem including established firms like Motorola Mobility. By intermingling new & seasoned companies and eliminating an exit date, TechNexus aims to be a collaboration environment rather than a program. “These 10 companies came to TechNexus because they wanted more than an incubator or accelerator program,” said Terry Howerton, co-founder of TechNexus. “They were looking for an environment that allows them to tap into the valuable collaboration that stems from the TechNexus network.” Since its 2007 inception, TechNexus’ has helped generate more than 450 jobs and $80 million in investment capital.
