TBR: Fostering business and tech innovation across Jamaica

It was hard to escape the tech event in Jamaica this week, as TBR – the crown jewel of Caribbean tech conferences – showcased itself, bringing in scores of local and international visitors and speakers to Montego Bay.

What stood out from this year’s conference, was frankly the curation. To quickly break down the efforts thus far: our congratulations are extended to the two founders: Kirk Anthony Hamilton and Kyle Mahoney.

If you’ve ever attended a good conference, you’d know a bit why these efforts matter so much. If you’ve ever attended a great one, you’d know pretty much why.

And if you’ve ever organized one, then you’ll know exactly what excellence looks like – and how hard that is to curate for others to enjoy.

Speakers at this year’s TBR Jamaica event included:

  • The Honourable Edmund Bartlett, Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism
  • Raamel Mitchell, Microsoft’s Director of Apps, Innovation, Data, and AI
  • Maria Fernandez Guajardo, Google Senior Director of Product Management
  • Lydia Dishman, Editor at Fast Company
  • Anthony Zamore, PwC Partner
  • Uche Adegbite, Google’s Strategy and Operations Director of Emerging Markets
  • And many more

Highlights of the conference included interactive workshops, discussions on AI, digital transformation, and sustainable tech solutions, and networking opportunities.

TBR’s flagship summit connects the Caribbean tech ecosystem with the major technology hubs of the world, with its Jamaica edition successfully developed a platform that provides unmatched access to a community that includes the largest and most influential brands in technology.

The organization’s campus styled environment allows a next level opportunity to build relationships, all while having the time of your life at the 5 star world renowned Secrets Resort.
