With Chicago Ideas Week underway the weekend is full of talks, labs, and programs designed to spread innovation throughout the city. Just in case you can’t get enough, SweetHack is one more event we think you should check out.
Entrprnr has partnered with #MsTech to bring SweetHack — a hackathon aiming to create new and better tools for entrepreneurs — to Chicago.
SweetHack is determined to evolve the conversation of female entrepreneurs beyond the issue of changing the ratio and toward advancing the quality of businesses and resources. Those that attend the hackathon will be focused on building a tool that will feature a searchable database of influencers and experts, a social platform for help and resource discovery, and content derived from events, incubators and experts. The event kicks off with a panel on Friday, October 14th from 7-9pm. Speakers include Daliah Saper, Principal at Saper Law, Ina Pinkney, Chef/Owner of Ina’s Kitchen, Jeremy Thum, Director of Marketing for the Chicago Bulls, and Klayton Korver, Co-Founder of SEER Outfitters. A cocktail reception will follow from 9:30-11:30pm featuring the women of #MsTech Chicago. Tickets are still available at $10 for both the panel and reception. Click here to RSVP. Hackathon Day 1 will start at 9am on Saturday, October 15th at TechNexus and go late into the evening. Day two and a soft launch will follow at 9am on Sunday, October 16th.Another event held at the Himalayas Center (before they opened), home to the Shanghai International Film Festival.
