NYC based Veritgore Games has just made one of my childhood dreams come true. I can now get into the gunner’s seat in the Millenium Falcon and protect Chicago from TIE Fighters. Yes, really. Star Wars Arcade: Falcon Gunner uses the camera lens of the iPhone to take in the surroundings of wherever you happen to be and puts you into the middle of a classic Star Wars dogfight with a voice encouraging you on. I assume its Han Solo because, well, its the frickin’ Millenium Falcon! As you point the iphone, the camera layers the game over whatever you are pointing the phone at. The video above makes it pretty clear how all it all works. So whether you are riding the el, sitting on the bus or by the Bean at Millenium Park, you can protect the city from swarms of TIE Fighters. File this one under WANT.
