Prosper Startup Accelerator, aimed at bridging the entrepreneurial gender gap through capital investment and mentorship in women owned businesses, came to a successful close on their application period on November 24, 2014. Prosper Startup Accelerator closed with a total 220 applications in 72 Cities, 22 states, 9 countries and 3 continents.
General Partner of the Prosper Startup Accelerator, Dr. Mary Jo Gorman, was please with the results by saying “Not only did we receive a large volume of 220 women entrepreneurs, but we received applications from a very diverse number of sectors.” Sectors leading the way are Consumer Products, Information Technology and Healthcare.
Prosper Startup Accelerator appreciates all the applicants to the program and will now begin the process of narrowing the 220 applicants down to six companies that will receive $50,000 and expert mentorship in their areas of focus.
