Ohio-based Startup Ilesfay Awarded Patent For Faster Data Replication

Ohio-based startup Ilesfay provides a secure cloud-based solution for file replication. Now, the CincyTech backed company can help organizations achieve 10X-30X improvement in data transfer speeds thanks to a new patented technology called MatchMaking®. The United States Patent and Trademark Office issued the patent No 8,244,831 titled, “Method for the Preemptive Creation of Binary Delta Information within a Computer Network.” MatchMaking® allows Ilesfay customers “to collaborate and share information in a way that was just not possible before,” says the company’s CEO Chris McLennan. “Our unique approach allows Ilesfay to provide our customers with the highest-performing data-replication methods on the planet.” Ilesfay helps companies who work with large amounts of distributed data to quickly and effectively share information. According to the Ilesfay company website, “point-to-point data replication is a quick fix that can also quickly turn into a big headache.” By utilizing cloud-based technology, Ilesfay instead uses a PointToCloud™ approach instead of point-to-point. By integrating the MatchMaking® technology into Ilesfay’s existing product line, the company is able to increase the speed of data transfer. Ohio-based CincyTech led an oversubscribed seed-stage round totaling $615,000 in April of this year. CincyTech invested $250,000 in the round. CincyTech senior investment analyst Justin Thompson noted in April that, “the company’s patent-pending technology could drastically improve the way multi-nation companies exchange information. This software will be a key investment for PLM and vaulting companies.” Now that the technology has been patented, Ilesfay is one step closer to becoming a homerun investment. Ilesfay counts Ohio-based Procter & Gamble among its roster of clients. Thanks to the founders’ combined 30 years of experience solving the problem of distributed data for Fortune 100 clients, Ilesfay is on track to become one of the major players in distributed data solutions.
