While its not as sexy as Jessica Alba in the The Fantastic Four, “the cloaking device” demonstrated by researchers from University of Texas at Dallas is pretty damn cool. Their ‘invisibility cloak’ is made possible by creating one-molecule thick transparent carbon nanotube sheets, which are stronger than steel, and then dunking them in water. By running an electrical current through the nanotube sheets, they raise its temperature, causing the sheet to transfer heat to the water. The heated water causes light rays to bend away from the object behind it, rendering it invisible to the naked eye.
