Self-dubbed as the world’s smallest wireless controller for mobile devices, the iMpulse is a Bluetooth connectable controller equipped with four face buttons and a circular thumbstick. Created by LA’s Black Powder Media, the wireless controller will enable gamers to enjoy the same touchscreen titles they’ve already been playing and experience emulated classics the way they were meant to be played. “Physical controllers gave us a level of tactile response and immersive experience that’s completely lost on touchscreen,” Black Powder Media owner Art Currim stresses in the project’s Kickstarter video.

Best of all, gamers won’t have to wait for mobile developers to release titles that work exclusively with the new device. According to Black Powder Media the controller will already work with hundreds of games already on the market for iOS and thousands more for Android. The controller additionally functions as a key finder and a remote control for video playback or for taking pictures at a distance. The iMpulse Game Controller has only just started a run on Kickstarter hoping to reach a near $50,000 goal in the next month and a half. Gamers have already rallied around the device, raising more than $26,000 of Black Powder’s goal. Gamers can snatch one of their own for only $30, with an anticipated delivery date of February.
