Latest Humble Indie Bundle Is Full Of Amazing Games, Unsurprisingly Selling Like Hotcakes

With its fifth group release the Humble Indie Bundle has seriously outdone itself this time. The latest collection includes five of some of the greatest indie games to come out in the past few years, and best of all you get to name your own price. The Humble Indie Bundle V includes the terrifying horror title Amnesia: The Dark Descent, 2005 cult hit Psychonauts, intensely atmospheric side scrolling game LIMBO, pixel art adventure title Superbrothers: Sword & Sorcery EP, and if you pay even a cent more than the $7.67 average you unlock the amazingly narrated action RPG Bastion – a game so good I started it again as soon as the credits stopped rolling. All games are completely DRM-free and available on Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms.

As if the deal wasn’t already insane enough, the developers have thrown in the soundtrack of each title as a free bonus, because they can (and presumably because they’re absolutely mad). All in all, excluding the game soundtracks, the package is worth about $63 at discounted retail prices. Amnesia alone still sells for $20 on Steam. Whatever price you decide to pay (it better be more than $1 or the shame will cling to you for eternity), The Humble Bundle website allows you to split up your hard earned cash between the game developers and Child’s Play Charity – an organization that provides hospitalized children with video games. So far more than 250,000 bundles have been sold, with one top contributor giving as much as $3,000. Initial earnings exceeded $500,000 in just over two hours. If the previous Indie Bundles are any indication, as crazy as the selection here is, we’re likely to see even more great titles joining the party as the sale continues over the next two weeks. Don’t worry about buying it early, though, as any newly added titles have been made available to all previous purchasers in the past. If you’ve never had the opportunity to play any of these great games, the new Humble Indie Bundle will be an absolute treat. Even if you’ve played the majority of them in the past, there’s really no reason to pass up such a great deal, and a great opportunity to support both indie developers and a charitable cause. The name-your-own-price bundle will be available for download over the next 14 days.
