Ziotag Inc, pioneering New York area startup, last week gained admission into Newchip’s Seed and Series A Accelerator Program. Newchip is an Austin, TX based accelerator program for bright young startups.
Ziotag’s groundbreaking platform leverages Artificial Intelligence (AI) and semantic web technology to automatically generate an Actionable Table of Contents (AToC) for any video or audio content. The platform breaks the media into chapters and sections, called ‘ziotags’, allowing users to jump directly to the most relevant part of the content.
“We are excited to be a part of such a prestigious program. We know this will help us deliver on our vision to improve how viewers and learners engage with online videos. We look forward to participating in Newchip’s comprehensive curriculum for founders. Participating in the investor events and demo days will be transformational for the company” says Jeff Paul, Ziotag’s co-founder and CEO.
Newchip’s accelerator for Seed and Series A Fund Raisers provides founders with all of the tools and skills necessary to build, scale, and fund their startups. 100% equity-free, their aim is to make the advantages of strong accelerator programs available to everyone regardless of stage and location in the world. Their curriculum includes live classes, mentor and advisor hours, masterminds, training videos, quizzes, tests, best practice/case study reports, and online and audiobooks.
Ziotag gained entrance to the program after an extensive interview process and detailed due diligence analysis.
In addition to the usual expectations of building the business faster and raising money, co-founder Todd Giannattasio says Ziotag wants to deliver additional value in targeted niche markets.
“By gaining admission into Newchip’s program, we’re accelerating the business, so that we can get to market and help impact high value markets like learning and development, training and education,” he says.
Ziotag recently completed a $500,000 pre-seed round, led by GITP Ventures. Also, the Ziotag platform is currently in closed beta, but the product launch is not far away
The Ziotag offering leverages a transformational new technology, called media contextualization, that allows a user to find and learn precisely the information that they need within a video or audio. This leads to an optimization of the learning experience, making it more time-efficient and better quality.
