BrightTag Scores Big In Yahoo! Japan PartnershipBY: Corey Cummings | November 1, 2012
Chicago startup BrightTag announced this week that its tag management platform has been selected to support Yahoo! Japan’s web infrastructure. BrightTag will enable Yahoo! Japan to unify information collection across all of its websites and services, allowing the company to have greater control over its privacy and improve marketing efficiency.
BrightTag gives companies the power to leverage data from their website and take control of their own information by cutting out third party services that may be harvesting their user data. The startup recently won a Chicago Innovation Award for its BrightTag ONE integration platform, which helps website owners manage and share data with marketing partners.
According to Yahoo! Japan head of marketing solutions Masatsugu Shidachi, BrightTag was selected for its industry-leading platform capable of meeting the “unique needs” of Japan’s online advertising market. “This partnership greatly improves our speed to market and lays the foundation for Yahoo! Japan to bring more innovation and growth to Japan’s interactive marketing industry,” Shidachi said of the new partnership.
The BrightTag platform is currently used by many big-name US brands, including GAP, Orbitz, and JetBlue. Earlier this year, the Chicago data company raised $15 million in a series C round of funding led by Baird Venture Partners. According to BrightTag founder and CRO Marc Kiven, the partnership with Yahoo! Japan highlights the platform’s capability to translate across foreign markets.
“We are honored to provide comprehensive data integration services for Yahoo! Japan and welcome a partnership that will contribute to the growth of Japan’s internet economy,” said Kiven. “Our technology platform is redefining how digital marketing data is connected in today’s dynamic, cross-channel world. The partnership demonstrates the versatility of our technology for scaling data-driven marketing and analytics across the globe.”
